Rail and scheduled inter-city bus services are planned to terminate at the main station.

 

Airport to City Shuttle

A bus shuttle service is scheduled to run between the airport, the rail and station and key hotels. The route and stops of this shuttle service is shown below.

SignBus Shuttle Service

This service operate for the period 14 June 2009 to 25 June 2009
Service starts at 05h00 with ±30 minute intervals between consecutive trips and will terminate at 20h15. On 20 and 24 June when soccer matches end at 22h30, the shuttle service will operate until 24h00.
This shuttle service is for the exclusive use of 2009 Confederations Cup match ticket holders and passengers will only be allowed to board buses upon presentation of a valid match ticket.

BLOEMFONTEIN SERVICES:

 

Spectators are encouraged to make use of Park & Ride and Park & Walk sites, to minimise traffic congestion levels around the stadium precinct. Also, general spectators are not going to be able to park within the stadium precinct due to the extensive road closures.

The Park and Ride sites are conveniently located for private vehicles to park in a secure environment and for spectators to then be transported in a free shuttle service to the stadium and back to their vehicles.

 

1.Park & Ride Locations:

  • Bloemfontein Showgrounds / Builders Warehouse parking areas in Curie Avenue
  • Baptist Church off Nelson Mandela Drive extension west of the N1 freeway.
  • Drop-off and pick-up at the stadium on Harris Street and St. Andrew Street
    (See map above).

 

2. Park and Walk Locations:

Those spectators wishing to drive as close as possible to the stadium are to be directed to one of three Park & Walk sites, respectively located at:

  • Grey College & Eunice school both in Jock Meiring Street to the west of the stadium, and at
  • Fontein Street Parking Garage in the CBD.
    (See map above).

 

Secure parking is to be provided at these sites, all of which are located within short walking distance from the stadium precinct.

 

3. Service details:

Hours of operation:
The hours of operation will be from 4 hours before the kick-off to 3 hours after the completion of the match/final whistle.
The shuttle service to and from the stadium will be provided free of charge to spectators with a valid match ticket.
Parking in a secure environment is also provided free of charge.

 

Frequency of services:
The frequency of services will be depending on demand from spectators. Before the match, it is expected that a shuttle will depart at least every 15 minutes from the Park & Ride to the stadium.
After the match, the complete fleet will be available to transport spectators back to the Park & Ride sites.
The frequency will be depending on the return times of the shuttle services, which is expected to be in the order of 10 – 15 minutes for the Show grounds Park & Ride site, and 15 – 20 minutes for the Church Park & Ride.

 

4. Cost of Park & Ride and Park & Walk services:

The Host City intends to promote the use of the Park & Ride and Park & Walk sites. No fees will therefore be charged for the use of the parking area, or the transport on the shuttle services to and from the stadium.
