PUBLIC TRANSPORT BETWEEN HOST CITIES
Regular scheduled inter-city bus and rail services currently operate between South Africa’s main cities, providing a cost effective public transport option. In addition some supplementary services between the four host cities are in place during the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup (FCC) enabling spectators to move easily between the different cities and venues.
Travelling to Confederations Cup Cities from all areas in South Africa
All the four 2009 FCC host cities (Johannesburg, Tshwane / Pretoria, Mangaung / Bloemfontein, and Rustenburg) are connected by surface public transport (rail, bus and minibus taxi) as well as air travel ensuring flexible and frequent travel in and around the country’s main city centres.

Air
All host cities link to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. South Africa has eight major domestic airlines flying between its major cities, and to some of the smaller ones, with fares ranging from first-class to economy.

Travelling between Johannesburg and Pretoria
There are regular rail, bus and taxi services currently operating between Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Business Express
A business express commuter rail service runs between Pretoria and Johannesburg every day during the week. This service provides luxury commuter travel that offers reduced transit times between the two cities. The train schedule for this service is listed in the table below.

Special Services for the 2009 FCC Event
Inter-City Bus System
In addition to regular scheduled bus operations supplementary services are provided by Autopax specifically during the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup (FCC), details are provided below.
There is a service between Bloemfontein and Rustenburg on Gauteng match days and it is the base service and increased service. It is in the order of 1 700 seats per direction. The schedule is linked to the start time of the matches in Gauteng, taking into account a 2hour window before match start time.
On match days in Bloemfontein the main route services are scheduled to run between Pretoria via Johannesburg to Bloemfontein (and return). A range of supporting services link to this main route.

Tickets can be purchased at Translux and City to City departure points at Bosman Street in Pretoria and Johannesburg's Park Station or from Shoprite / Checkers / CompuTicket outlets throughout the country.
Passengers are advised to make their arrangements as soon as possible.

Bus Timetables for travel between Host Cities
A final schedule has not yet been determined and will be based on service demand.
Services are scheduled to arrive at venues at least 1hr 30min before official kick-off time and vehicles will depart 1hr after the end of the match. Return buses are scheduled to depart at 10 min intervals back to Gauteng.
