
Regular scheduled inter-city bus and rail services currently operate between South Africa’s main cities, providing a cost effective public transport option. In addition some supplementary services between the four host cities are in place during the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup (FCC) enabling spectators to move easily between the different cities and venues.
All the four 2009 FCC host cities (Johannesburg, Tshwane / Pretoria, Mangaung / Bloemfontein, and Rustenburg) are connected by surface public transport (rail, bus and minibus taxi) as well as air travel ensuring flexible and frequent travel in and around the country’s main city centres.

There is a service between Bloemfontein and Rustenburg on Gauteng match days and it is the base service and increased service. It is in the order of 1 700 seats per direction. The schedule is linked to the start time of the matches in Gauteng, taking into account a 2hour window before match start time.
On match days in Bloemfontein the main route services are scheduled to run between Pretoria via Johannesburg to Bloemfontein (and return). A range of supporting services link to this main route.

On match days in Rustenburg the main route services is scheduled to run between Johannesburg and Rustenburg and between Pretoria and Rustenburg. A range of supporting services link to this main route.

Main Pick up points in Gauteng:
Tickets can be purchased at Translux and City to City departure points at Bosman Street in Pretoria and Johannesburg's Park Station or from Shoprite / Checkers / CompuTicket outlets throughout the country.
Passengers are advised to make their arrangements as soon as possible.
For enquiries and bookings in Pretoria call 012 315 3479 or 011 774 3321 in Johannesburg and payment can be made by credit card or through a bank deposit.
A final schedule has not yet been determined and will be based on service demand.
Services are scheduled to arrive at venues at least 1hr 30min before official kick-off time and vehicles will depart 1hr after the end of the match. Return buses are scheduled to depart at 10 min intervals back to Gauteng.
