Tshwane Park and Ride, Walk and Ride Locations and Traffic Zones
TSHWANE SERVICES:
1. Accessing the stadium by foot:
From Rissik Rail Station and Hatfield area:
Proceed along University Rd or Park Rd. Use the dedicated pedestrian walkway to the east of the stadium to access East, North and South Stands.
Use Kirkness Rd for accessing the West Stand
From Park and Walk Site at Pretoria Technical High School:
Private vehicles can also park at the dedicated Park & Walk facility at Pretoria Technical High School. To access the walk facility, proceed along Park Rd, turning into Kirkness to access the West, North and South Stand, or proceed further along Park Rd to the pedestrian walkway, to access the East Stand.
2. Park and Ride services:
Those making use of their own vehicles or taxis should park at the dedicated Park & Ride facilities at:
- LC de Villiers sports grounds Park & Ride
- Pretoria Sports Union Park & Ride
From the Park & Rides there are dedicated shuttles to Loftus Versfeld Stadium which are as follows:
- Shuttle drop off and pick up point for LC De Villiers East of stadium on University Rd.
- Shuttle drop off and pick up point for Pretoria Sports Union Grounds South East of stadium on Jorissen Rd.
Shuttles run continuously, starting 4 hours before kick-off until 3 hours after the end of the match.
The appropriate facility to use depends on your trip starting point and your stadium seating. The best facility based on your stadium seating is as follows:
- North and East pavilion: LC de Villiers.
- Southern pavilion: Pretoria Sports Union.
- West pavilion: Park & Walk at Pretoria Technical High.
3. Match Day Park and Ride and Park & Walk services:
Due to the access restrictions on match days, dedicated parking will be set up at the “Park and Ride” venues as follows:
- LC de Villiers sports grounds Park & Ride
- Pretoria Sports Union grounds Park & Ride
4. Match Day Park & Walk services:
- Pretoria Technical High School Park & Walk
5. Service details:
Shuttle busses will transport fans to the stadium from Park and Rides and at the Park and Walk and spectators will move on foot to the stadium.
6. Park and Ride from Tshwane & from Johannesburg South and East, to Johannesburg, Coca Cola/Ellis Park:
Spectators from Tshwane travelling to Coca Cola Park can catch a Park and Ride Service from Tshwane Events Centre west of the CBD. If you are travelling for Johannesburg South and East then the Park and Ride venue at Dries Niemandt Park; Ekurhuleni may be more convenient.
Pretoria Main Station (located on the southern side of the Tshwane Central Business District at the intersection of Paul Kruger Street and Scheiding Street) is the main transport hub of the city for serving fans for the 2009 FCC. This is an intermodal hub, including trains, buses (local and intercity) and taxis (both minibus and metered).
